Traverse - Are you ready for the ultimate challenge ? 

An unforgettable traverse on skis from the shore of the Salangen Fjord through spectacular mountains to the shore of the Lavangen Fjord. 

In this format we offer a special challenge for those ski mountaineers who are extremely fit, want to make the most of the day and have a passion of gaining verticals. We offer you an outstanding day in Astafjord’s wildest terrains. In search for the best untouched powder slopes we are going to cross mountain ridges with a spectacular view on the fjords. We will put our skins on and off frequently an you will experience all the grandeur of Astafjord’s spectacular mountain ranges. Depending on your motivation and fitness we will gain up to 3000m vertical meters or even more! Each descent will be unique with untouched snow and an absolute sense of adventure. We will move through this vast and majestic mountain arena with nothing but the minimum we need.

Ice Climbing in Astafjord

Climbing Ice north of the Arctic Circle is special: due to the big amplitudes in temperatures, the closeness of the sea and the very low temperatures with minus twenty degrees and below the ice is often brittle and not easy to read. Moving safely through those creations of ice demands a lot of experience. But it is also an unforgettable experience and a big adventure. Astafjord offers incredible ice potential and has some spectacular long ice routes such as Skredbekken, Henrikafossen or Flågbekken.

We are proud to offer you both: beginners courses placed in a safe environment where you will get the chance to make your first steps on low to steeper angled ice and individual guiding of the outstanding super ice lines in the Astafjord region.
